Chiropractic Care

Dr Wes adjusting patients shoulderYour joints are designed to move—when they can’t, the body reacts and inflammation occurs. This inflammation can surround the joint, irritate the muscle and put pressure on the nerve. The result can be pain, immobility or other types of dysfunction. Chiropractors locate the joints in your spine or extremities that aren’t moving as they should, then restore movement with chiropractic adjustments.

At Royse City Chiropractic & Rehab, we take it a step further by taking the tension off the joint with stretching and strengthening exercises that retrain the joint how to move properly.

Our Comprehensive Approach

Dr. Kurtz offers a variety of adjusting techniques, including Diversified manual adjustments, drop table and Activator®. The vast majority of our patients receive traditional manual adjustments, which can be highly effective in restoring motion to stuck joints. Dr. Kurtz induces this motion as gently as possible while getting the job done. He is committed to ensuring your comfort.

After your adjustment, Dr. Kurtz will give you some stretching or strengthening exercises. He’ll show you how to do them here in the office and make sure you’re doing them correctly. Then they’ll be your “homework” until the next visit.

As your condition improves, your exercises will change in intensity and focus. Initially, you’ll be stretching to relieve the tension on your joints. Later, you’ll be working on strengthening the muscles and retraining them to support the joint properly. Most patients also receive electrical muscle stimulation and/or heat packs at the end of their session to calm the muscles and help you leave feeling great.
